Our Manifesto

Everyone who has touched Big Sky has felt the mountain touch them.

You’ve lived that moment, first run or last, in powder, on a groomer, or from the top of Lone Peak on a summer evening—the moment is not exactly yours to choose. But when it happens, it’s not about the performance or the conquering or the top, it’s about the effortless, momentous connection of a string of turns–on skis, on a bike—when you can’t tell where you end and the mountain begins. It’s when you pause at the top of a hike and you feel that the boundaries have blurred, the earth has tilted, and you see things differently. It’s when you touch the bigger sky.

All mountains are majestic but we are devoted to the gift of transcendence and well-being that the vast terrain of Big Sky makes possible, and the lifts that get us closer to it. We’re devoted because as mountain people, we want to experience the transformative power of Big Sky for ourselves, and as hosts we want others to feel it too, again and again.
